Late-breaking Abstracts 

Late-breaking abstracts for the Summit, the innovative annual meeting of the American Physiological Society (APS), open Jan. 2, 2025.

A late-breaking abstract should contain:

  • new information that was not yet known or fully available by the on-time abstract submission deadline, and/or 
  • findings that are of high scientific impact that are especially newsworthy and deserving of consideration. 

Submit by Feb. 14, 2025, for the opportunity to collaborate with others working, teaching and learning in the biomedical sciences.

Accepted abstracts will be scheduled for presentation and published in the APS journal Physiology.   

There is a $125 nonrefundable fee for each submitted abstract.   

  • All abstracts must be submitted electronically.   
  • Payment is required at the time of submission.   
  • Payment may be made with Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit cards. A receipt of the abstract handling charge will be emailed to the submitter.   
  • Submitting an abstract does not register you for the Summit.  Registration will open December 9, 2024.  
  • Registration is a separate charge. You must register for the Summit to be able to present your abstract.   
  • If an abstract is withdrawn, the submission fee cannot be refunded.   
  • All accepted abstracts will be published unedited in the journal Physiology.   

All on-time abstract submitters will be notified via email on January 22, 2025, of the specific date, time and presentation format. Any abstract selected for oral presentation will also be scheduled as a poster.   

Make your registration, travel and housing arrangements as soon as possible through the American Physiology Summit website.  Keep an eye on important dates and deadlines.
