Award Description
The John S. Fordtran Gastrointestinal & Liver (GIL) Section Distinguished Research Lectureship recognizes an outstanding investigator who is internationally recognized for their contribution to research in areas represented by the Section. This award was formerly known as the Gastrointestinal & Liver Section Distinguished Research Lecture.
Eligibility
The candidate must:
- Be an APS member
- Be established member (professor rank or equivalent).
- Have contributed to gastrointestinal and liver physiology research.
Criteria
The application package includes :
- Curriculum vitae.
- A nomination letter.
Candidates for this award are judged based on their curriculum vitae, including funding, publication record and service to the APS, and the quality of the content of a nomination letter.
Awardees will be recognized at the GIL Physiology Section Banquet at the American Physiology Summit where they are expected to deliver an after-dinner talk at the GIL Section Banquet and Business Meeting.
Applications are only accepted via online submission.
Award at a Glance
Award amount: $1,000, plus reimbursement of the early registration fee to the American Physiology Summit, and complimentary admission to the GIL Section banquet.
