Award Description
The International Early-career Physiologist (IECP) Travel Awards are presented to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty members who live and work outside the United States. This initiative of the International Committee is designed to assist with travel expenses that international early career physiologists incur while attending the American Physiology Summit to present their work. APS awards up to 12 awards of $1,000 each annually.
Eligibility
- Must be an APS member in good standing;
- Must be studying for a doctoral degree or have received a doctoral degree within the past 15 years;
- Must not be above the rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
Criteria
Must have submitted an abstract as presenting author (i.e. first author or senior author) to the American Physiology Summit and attend the meeting to present their work. The abstract must have been submitted to a Topic Category of the APS Section to which the applicant’s research is relevant.
- Applicants must complete the online application, upload a biosketch, a PDF of the abstract that was summitted to the American Physiology Summit and a letter of support detailing your role in the abstract.

Please Note: Individuals may receive up to two IECP travel awards. Applications are reviewed and rated by the International Committee. To receive an IECP Travel Award, successful candidates are required to attend the American Physiological Summit to present their work. Awardees will be recognized, and a wire transfer fund will be sent after the APS annual meeting.
