February 14, 2022 (Rockville, Md.)—The American Physiological Society (APS) is pleased to announce the results of the 2022–2023 leadership elections. Our new president-elect and three councilors will begin their terms in April at the conclusion of the APS annual meeting at Experimental Biology (EB) 2022.

President-elect

Willis Samson 200Willis K. “Rick” Samson, PhD, DSc, FAPS
Samson is a professor of pharmacology and physiology and director of biomedical science graduate programs at the School of Medicine, Saint Louis University.




Councilors

Heddwen Brooks 200Heddwen Brooks, PhD
Brooks is a professor of physiology at the University of Arizona.






Nisha Charkoudian 200x200Nisha Charkoudian, PhD

Charkoudian is a research physiologist at the U.S. Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine, Natick, Massachusetts.





Evangline Motley 200Evangeline Motley-Johnson, PhD

Motley-Johnson is the interim dean, School of Graduate Studies and Research; professor, Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Physiology, at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee.
