In this webinar, Giacomo Rossitto, PhD, of the University of Padua in Italy, will describe his physiological studies suggesting a defective interstitial fluid drainage in patients with heart failure, which is a prototypic condition for overt volume expansion. He will also discuss recent evidence linking organ-specific lymphatic systems with organ function, with particular emphasis on the myocardium, the kidneys and their interplay in the maintenance of fluid homeostasis.
Speaker
Giacomo Rossitto, PhD, is a lecturer at the University of Padua in Italy. He specializes in internal medicine with a clinical and research focus on cardiovascular medicine. Rossitto’s PhD studies, investigated tissue salt accumulation and homeostasis in cardiovascular disease.
