Eduardo Marbán, MD, PhD, of Cedars Sinai Smidt Heart Institute in Los Angeles will present a webinar on the use of cell therapies, extracellular vesicles (EVs) and noncoding RNAs (ncRNA) for the treatment of cardiovascular conditions. His research team explores the use of EVs as a therapeutic agenda for refractory ventricular tachycardia and cardiosphere-derived cells for the treatment of heart failure. The ncRNA within EVs can be used as they occur naturally or serve as bioinspiration for new chemical entities.

2022 CC Speaker Headshots - Eduardo Marban - 200x200Eduardo Marbán, MD, PhD , is a professor of cardiology and biomedical sciences at Cedars Sinai Smidt Heart Institute in Los Angeles. His research focuses on using biologically based therapies for cardiac regeneration and biological pacemakers. Marbán’s lab's research uses cardiosphere-derived cells to demonstrate that the cells are better in their functional repair capacity and  angiogenic ability to secrete favorable paracrine factors that other cells in clinical use do not.
