APS has curated five distinct collections of materials to help you develop outreach topics, plan events and share your enthusiasm for physiology with the next generation. You can access the following collections in the Life Science Teaching Resource Community (LifeSciTRC):
Elementary School Outreach Resources: This collection contains resources for conducting outreach activities with elementary students (grades Pre K-4). Examples of items in this collection include planning tools, activity development and practical hints on carrying out event in a variety of locations, (i.e., classrooms, after-school and whole school).
Middle School Outreach Resources: This collection contains resources for conducting outreach activities with middle school students (grades 5-8). Examples of items in this collection include planning tools, activity development and practical hints on carrying out event in a variety of locations, (i.e., classrooms, after-school and whole school).
High School Outreach Resources: This collection contains resources for conducting outreach activities with high school students (grades 9-12). Examples of items in this collection include planning tools, activity development and practical hints on carrying out event in a variety of locations, (i.e., classrooms, after-school and whole school).
K-12 Outreach Large Events: This collection contains resources for large scale events many of which were conducted by university level students participating in outreach activities for K-12 students. Examples of items in this collection include planning tools, activity development and practical hints on carrying out events in a variety of locations, (i.e., museums, school gymnasiums and community events).
Publications: This collection contains publications by past Physiology Understanding (PhUn) Week planners and participants outlining their outreach activities, impacts of their outreach, as well as evidence-based results.
